My dear Friend and President, DJT,
I hope you enjoy your visit to El Paso today. Are you ready to do some repair work? As you probably know, the folks there are perturbed that in the SOTU you portrayed the city as violent and crime ridden before the border fence was built. The mayor worries that you are giving the place a bad reputation, and U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar feels like you gave her a "sucker punch." They've got statistics suggesting that El Paso is one of the safest cities of its size in the USA.
It's too bad that the Wyler Aerial Tramway just closed in Sept. It goes up to the top of Ranger Peak providing a great view of El Paso and Juarez, Mexico. Maybe you can send some infrastructure spending to TX so they can repair it and get it back it in business. An aerial tram is much more fun than a wall.
While you're in El Paso you can say hi to Beto O'Rourke and his friends who will be marching a mile and having a rally of their own. Beto is excited that your visit will shine the national spotlight on his hometown which he says is" a vibrant, safe, bi-national community that proudly celebrates its culture, history, diversity and status as a city of immigrants."
I have an early meeting today so I need to get going.
Have a nice trip,
RCA
