My Dear Friend and President, DJT,

            Thanks for the nice Christmas message that you and Melania shared yesterday. It’s nice to hear you evoking the words of peace, joy and Jesus’ love for EVERY person. May these words and sentiments play a larger role in your discourse in 2020.

            While I share your gratitude for all of the folks who “keep us safe” I wish you had also expressed appreciation for our teachers, nurses, social workers and other public servants who dedicate their lives to promoting the general welfare of our nation. If we cultivate kindness and caring, we won’t have to spend so much money on protection.

            Let’s focus more on hope than fear in 2020.
