Have you spoken with CO Sen. Cory Gardner lately? I hadn't heard of him until today when he hit the headlines for saying that it's time to end the shutdown. You have to respect the guy for standing up for what he believes. The Weekly Standard quoted him as saying, "the job that we have in this country (is) to stand up for everyone, regardless of how popular it is. Our liberty isn’t based on a popularity poll. It’s based on the Constitution. Our rights given from God. And we can never let that change.”Speaking out about the shutdown seems like bold move for a GOP guy, but he doesn't have much to lose. A Denver Post writer opined that he's vulnerable in the 2020 election and should avoid "riding on the Trump bus — without a seat belt — heading for another Colorado collision." We'll have to keep an eye on him.
Don't you love Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez? She's even better at tweeting than you are. Did you see her latest in response to being booed by the GOP when she voted for NDP? "Don't hate me, because you ain't me." It's fun to see such a spunky youngster take on the world, don't you think?
