My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

Cause I've seen better days
Been the star of many plays
I've seen better days
And the bottom drops out

Have you heard this refrain? If not, you’re lucky! It’s from a 15-year-old song that I’ve heard too many times in the past week. My husband has adopted it as his anthem & has it on replay.

I’m afraid too many people are feeling that they’ve seen better days. Enough felt it before Nov 5. More felt it on Nov 6. Even more feel it now, some due to being terminated from federal employment & others by witnessing the dismantling of so many programs, all at once.

Please show some compassion for those folks whose worlds have been affected by your policies. According to NBC, many federal workers are distraught. Even those who voted for you. In their interviews people said things like, “I work in suicide prevention & I’ve had thoughts of not wanting to be here anymore.” One pointed out how inappropriate she thought ERM’s tactics are by observing, “the government is not a startup; we have been in business since 1776.” Even those who have not lost their jobs are feeling dehumanized.

I encourage you to reconsider your decision to hire Russell Vought as leader of the Office of Management & Budget. A boss who wants to traumatize his employees will not get the best out of his workforce. If you want to construct anything with your administration, you will need motivated people. Right now, they are broken hearted & depressed. The tasks they put on their list of “things accomplished this week” will not be done well. That does not bode well!

In addition to showing some compassion for your suffering workers, please show some sympathy for the formerly enslaved scam center people stuck in Burma. According to AP, thousands of people are “being held either in army camps controlled by the Kayin Border Guard Force, or repurposed scam compounds, where many have been since early February…(in) overcrowded facilities with no medical care, limited food & no idea when they’ll be sent home.”

Please look into refunding the USAID efforts along the Burma/Thai border so agencies with local workers can provide humanitarian assistance to these folks. They are not criminals & need help.

            BYBS,
