My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,

I am off to the races this AM so I don’t have time to share what I learned about Neville Chamberlain & his attempts to keep the Brits out of war in 1938. I’m quite taken with his idea that “no one wins a war,” & I think you are, too.

This will have to be quick because I need to head over to pick up my bib for the Shamrockin run across the Tower Bridge.

I was disappointed to read in the G that you vented your fury at an “extraordinary speech at the DOJ” yesterday. You need the lawyers at the DOJ to have energy for their work every day. They like to think they are fighting for justice. Your accusations will not inspire the folks who are trying their best to remain neutral & carry on in prosecuting cases in the name of the federal government.

I regret that you & your gang hate government employees so much! Do you ever philosophize about the irony of that? You & ERM are firing are your minions. It’s unclear why you’d want to decimate your workforce, given that’s where your power comes from. I encourage you to stop listening to Russ Vought. Bureaucrats are not villains. They are your staff & if you want to accomplish anything, you need to motivate them. According to Factorial, Jack Welsh’s rank & yank idea of firing 10% of the workforce every year, creates an unhealthy culture that discourages cooperation & impacts employee morale.  Best to rethink this whole DOGE thing!

Regarding Burma, in “‘Inch by inch’: Myanmar rebels close in on key military base in Chin State” the AJ reports that various Chin forces have come together to surround the city of Falam preventing the junta conscripts from fighting their way into the city. They say that “seizing Falam independently would represent a new phase in Myanmar’s revolution,” because the fighters are not part of the well-organized & trained ethnic armies, rather they just emerged after the coup. This ragtag army is holding their own because the junta is spread so thin.

The situation in Burma is a David vs Goliath situation & shows that the little guys can win when they are motivated & a little lucky. Might does not make right!

Wish me luck in my 5K!

            BYBS,
