My Dear Friend & POTUS, DJT,
According to the Federal Registry as of today you have signed 87 Executive Orders. If I were you, I’d have trouble keeping track of it all & would find it difficult to follow up.
When I was a leader, I kept my projects to a minimum so I could monitor our progress. I probably tended to execute too much of these initiatives on my own, since I did not want to burden anyone with additional responsibilities when their plates were already full. Every time I launched into something, I found it was more complicated than I originally anticipated, & a host of people needed to be on board in order to accomplish the goal. Staff were the hardest to wrangle, as they were reluctant to change fragile systems that were barely functioning. If you were to back off the flood of mandates, you could assess progress & ensure things were evolving as expected.
Before signing your next EO, please keep in mind the observation in my hexagram for today “power can make us eager, but eagerness unbalances us & leads us into trouble.”
Were there any women at the Tech CEO event yesterday? Among the 13 individuals pictured at the cabinet table for the Crypto Summit, I saw only one who appeared to be a woman. I couldn’t find out who she was, but I don’t think she was on Hackernoon’s list of “disruptor women” who are “reshaping crypto in 2025.” Did you invite Nelly Cornejo (NC), President & Founder of TAAL Project, a non-profit organization helping the general public understand Blockchain technology & bring more women into the sector?
SoW, are you up on this stuff? If so, please help me understand this quote attributed to NC “The convergence of AI, crypto, & Web3 will also transform user adoption. DePIN & DeAI represent over 210 startups with publicly traded tokens.” Did “qubits” come up yesterday? If so, did you follow? Did Satya Nadella get into an argument with Jeff Bezos over who is going to have the next breakthrough in quantum computing? My head starts to explode when I encounter these new ideas. How about you?
Regarding Burma, did you read the unfortunate news in AJ that “the United Nations is facing calls to investigate its special envoy on Myanmar, Julie Bishop, over alleged ties between her consulting firm & Chinese companies?” She’s been giving advice to Melbourne-based Energy Transition Minerals, a rare earths company with Chinese investors. This relationship gives her a conflict of interest that makes her untrustworthy in the eyes of most Burmese.
Conflicts of interest erode trust, so I hope you will start to avoid them.
BYBS,
