Happy Valentine’s Day! What are you planning to do for Melania? According to the Economic Times she hasn’t been seen since Jan. 24, so I hope she’s ok. Do you know if she’s going to the Children’s Inn at NIH as she did in 2020?
SoW, do you know if DOGE shut down the Children’s Inn? As you may recall, it’s the home of children participating in NIH clinical trials. In Nov they broke ground on a new wing so they could serve 25% more kids. Everyone calls it a place where “magic” happens, as kids get cured from illnesses that were once known to be fatal. Thanks to the NIH, brilliant scientists & doctors have a venue to test out new treatments. It’s a shame it’s being decimated right now.
Speaking of brilliance, I hope you aren’t so dazzled by ERM’s brain power that you give him carte blanche. Our democracy is rooted in the idea that consultation with various parties ensures success.
BTW, we’re working on that idea, here, in my community, as a small group is planning to buy an Elliptical machine. They want to move forward so haven’t gotten input from others. Any suggestions on how to address this, so everyone feels heard?
I am alerting you to the danger of dependence on ERM because, one of these days, he’s going to go too far in his quirkiness & your followers may go berserk! For example, bringing Lil X to the Oval Office was a risky move & did not turn out well. Some thought he was using X as a “prop.” They noted X picked his nose & told you to shut up. Laura Lovett, prof at Pitt opined that you explicitly invoked the history of eugenics by “identifying X, as a ‘high IQ individual.”

My take was that ERM has no idea what 4-year olds are like, assuming he could hold a press conference in the presence of his son. ERM admitted his ignorance when he had X on his shoulders & was having trouble concentrating on the journalists’ questions.
I am intrigued by ERM’s ideas about UBI & wonder when I will be getting my government paycheck. More on this another day.
Did you see the good news that more than 250 people from 20 nationalities who had been working in telecom fraud centers in Burma have been released by the Democratic Karen Benevolent Army and brought to Thailand? I was surprised to see that 138 were Ethiopian.
