My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
Another day, another beginning. As you know, “God is change.” Let’s await the future with curiosity & face the past with gratitude & embrace the challenges of the moment.
While things did not go as well as you hoped at the debate, you survived it. You made some good points. The only bad content was the golf part. The NYT called it, “a petty exercise between 2 aging men trying vainly to outdo one another.” It’s too bad that you took 45’s bait.
Did you feel discombobulated? Some say it became obvious at minute 13 when you were talking about abortion. I’m afraid your executive control function got overwhelmed as you were trying to suppress your personal opposition to the procedure. If you had been on your game, you would have hit that one out of the park.
When I heard your raspy voice at the beginning, I knew you were not in the best health. I appreciate that you put yourself out there even though you weren’t feeling well. I encourage you to acknowledge that you were not on your toes & chalk it up to having a cold. We’ve all been there.
I hope your visit to the Hamptons goes well today. Perhaps you can stop by Estia’s Little Kitchen & say hi to my brother, Colin (CTA). It’s a quaint little spot with a lovely garden, the freshest produce available & great hot sauce. CTA is your kind of guy. Always smiling, eager to meet new folk & ready for adventure.
Our move is going fine. My neighbor teased me about our approach, moving one chair at a time. Slow & steady wins the race.
Meanwhile, the conflict in Burma continues. According to RFA, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army claim to have captured 26 junta-occupied camps in two days of fighting in northeast Shan state. Please ask UN Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to talk with UN Special Envoy on Myanmar Julie Bishop (JB) ASAP. JB just made a special visit to ASEAN headquarters & perhaps has some new info to share. Some progress in Burma would do us all a world of good.
BYBS,
