My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

I love you! I hope that you dazzle the world, tomorrow. Let your God shine through, keep your temper at bay & bask in the moment.

The featured article in today’s NYT which described you as “a practitioner of old-school politics in a new-school era” suggests you may still have a chip on your shoulder, but you know the issues better than anyone. I especially appreciate what Jill’s guy, Michael LaRosa, had to say about you, calling “relatability” your “superpower.” He attributes that to your ability to expose your humanity, including flaws, mistakes & everything else that comes with imperfection.

The mantra, “now, now, now” might help you to be your best self tomorrow night. It will remind you to focus on the present moment & how blessed you are to have the eyes of the world on you. It’s not about beating or shaming 45, it’s about inspiring the rest of us, uplifting us & bringing us hope.

According to AP, “about 6 in 10 U.S. adults say they are “extremely” or “very” likely to watch the debate live or in clips, or read about or listen to commentary about the performance of the candidates in the news or social media.” What a gift!

Think of it like the Sermon on the Mount rather than an election appeal. Remember Jesus’ words to his disciples, “You are the salt of the Earth. You are the Light of the world.” Be you! That’s all anyone can ask.

Thanks for pardoning the vets convicted of “unnatural carnal copulation.” They deserve benefits & an apology.

Thanks for sending Daniel Kritenbrink(DJK) to talk to the junta’s guy, Kyaw Lin Zaw. Opening lines of communication in Burma is the first step to peace. I hope DJK is talking to the NUG, too.

Thanks to my ELD & her partner, we are making good progress in transferring our stuff over to West Sac. I cherish every moment of this exciting time!
