My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Happy Summer Solstice! Aren’t we blessed to live on a planet whose axial tilt is 23.5 degrees? Each day the amount of light & the angle of the sun’s rays differ, offering us reminders of Octavia Butler(OEB)’s declaration that God is Change. BTW, the 76th anniversary of her birth will be Sat.

             OEB believed we need to study the past as we anticipate the future & was convinced that unintended consequences will always arise. She also suggested, ““there’s no single answer that will solve all of our future problems. There’s no magic bullet. Instead, there are thousands of answers–at least. You can be one of them if you choose to be.”

            As we contemplate birthdays, did you know folks all over Burma celebrated Aun San Suu Kyi’s 79th year, yesterday? According to the AP, “In the southern region of Tanintharyi, hundreds of demonstrators in Dawei district displayed Suu Kyi’s famous slogan ‘The only real prison is fear, & the only real freedom is freedom from fear.’” Others posted “Happy Birthday, Steel Rose” & “The steel roses will retaliate against the junta’s oppression without yielding,” on social media.

            As you prepare to debate 45, please keep in mind that WINTA!
