JRB,
How R U? Can you believe we are half-way through the year? As Steve Miller said, “time keeps on slippin into the future.”
The song also included a lyric about a revolution which included housing for those living on the streets. Please get busy with that!
I am excited about the WSWC Grand Opening today! I will be getting the “key” to our new place & greeting well-wishers. Yeah!
As usual I found the scene at the G7 family photo fascinating. As you know, Pope F held things up, so the gang had time to schmooze. Did you have fun talking with your neighbors? Was Akinwumi Adesina making a pitch for his debt-for-nature idea of financing development in Africa? Was William Ruto giving you an update on the Kenya Haiti mission?
As you were chatting with your buds, Kristalina Georgieva-Kinova was working her side of the podium. I suspect Ajay Banga was strategizing with her about how to get interest rates down so they can support development around the world. I am not sure what the difference between his World Bank & her IMF is. Is it like Chase & Wells Fargo, both banks who redistribute $$?
SPOW, what’s your favorite bank? I am thinking of finding a new one.
I was disappointed to learn that Myanmar did not make it onto the G7 agenda. I suspect Japan had something to do with that, given that Yokogawa Bridge Corp. continues to finance the junta through its Bago River Bridge Construction Project. Please ask them to cut that out.
Perhaps the group decided to avoid all controversy this year in order to maintain a unified front, so VVP wouldn’t get any ideas. The NYT reported the G7 went “extraordinarily smoothly…(you) may appear politically vulnerable & uncertain of re-election, but this summit meeting was another example of unchallenged American leadership of the West, especially on contentious issues of war & peace.”
Congrats!
Enjoy LA!
