My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            How are things in Italy? According to the Borgo Eganzia’s website “you can live nowhere else experiences” at their establishment. I haven’t seen news of any disruptions from peace activist or climate change protestors. They often find a way to beautifully & creatively express their passions. I hope they have the freedom to do so.

Apparently the mafia is more likely to disrupt the event than the young folk. CNN says the local clans have been particularly active lately, trying to get their piece of the economic activity related to putting on the summit. A Zoom meeting would avoid such shenanigans & be gentler on the planet. Please raise that possibility with your buds.

            Speaking of disruptions, the only one we experienced at yesterday’s graduation was an audience member coughing in a loud & rather disgusting manner. Security was heavy, including a fully armed police officer on the stage so we were ready.

            Do you think Pope Francis will persuade the G7 leaders to regulate AI? I have no idea what that should look like, do you? According to CNN he’s worried about a “technological dictatorship,” AI-controlled weapons systems, surveillance & interference in elections. All legitimate concerns, don’t you think?

            I know that the G7 crew has too many topics of conversation, but I hope Burma is on the list! Today’s news indicates that poverty deepens as the junta arms itself with Chinese drones.

Thanks for insisting that this year’s agreement include language about supporting universal health-care access for women, including comprehensive sexual & reproductive health rights.

You all were nice to give VOZ a loan. I hope he uses the $$ wisely.
