My Dear POTUS, JRB,
The electronic gremlins stole several of your letters that I wrote & failed to send. They disappeared into cyberspace when I turned off my computer on my flight to Anahiem. Perhaps they’ll turn up some day. As usual, the letters included questions, advice & some thanks. Please know you have been in my thoughts for the past week..
I take this loss as a sign that I need to send the letters immediately, rather than let them pile up. In any case, I regret the loss for both you & I.
Now, now, now! Did I tell you that’s my latest mantra? It can be said gently, as my Grandma used to do when comforting me, or it can be said emphatically, as my dad did when he wanted something done immediately. Whatever the intonation, it reminds us to be present in the moment rather than get caught up in a daydream, regret the past or worry about the future.
NOW is where life happens, so I refuse to perseverate on documents that have disappeared from my hard drive.
So, I am writing you about today. Since your public calendar is not displaying on factba.se, I assume you are still at Camp David with Jill, getting revved up for more fund raising.
Congratulations on setting a record in that regard at Thursday night’s event at Radio City Music Hall! I saw a clip of you talking with Stephen Colbert & 42 & 44. I loved your quip about 45, “All the things he’s doing are so old. He’s a little old & out of shape, anyway.” The timing was great & the sentiment apt without being too harsh, unlike his latest attack on you which is totally inappropriate!
BHO’s observation, “"Part of democracy is not just talking. It’s listening…the world is complicated & it is hard to solve these problems," was also spot on.
Did you see Min Aung Hlaing’s show at his Armed Forces Day parade in Naypyitaw? Do you think anyone believed him when he said, “youths (are) becoming scapegoats of insurgents, misled by false narrative propaganda through media sabotage?”
