My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
How was your gig in Philly? I heard a few of your remarks at Strath Haven Middle School, but I didn’t see any teens in your audience. According to the Delco Times some HS Srs were disappointed they couldn’t get in.
I loved the photo of Chichi Ilonzo Momah hugging Jill after introducing her. It’s so cool that her Springfield Pharmacy is seen as a light in the community.
Did you have fun shooting your new ad? The NYT says it “target(s) a youthful demographic, represent(ing) a shift in tone, trying to turn one of the president’s greatest perceived liabilities into an asset.” They highlight the mischievous grin that you flash during the outtake at the end. I hope it helps.
I was comforted to read in the CSM today that Marshall Ingwerson, their former editor, has studied polls going back to the ‘70s & has found that, despite all the hype, “people have not actually moved significantly apart on the issues.” I was most relieved to see that “the percentage of Americans who say violence might be justified, if things really head south one way or the other” was worse when Clinton was in office & “people generally think the other side is about twice as inclined to violence as it really is. When they learn the facts, their own acceptance of violence tends to back down.”
I missed International Women’s Day yesterday, but as some celebrated, “nearly 4,000 Myanmar women languished in junta-controlled prisons, police detention facilities and military interrogation centers across the country for their political activism.” Please continue to monitor the situation there.
BYBS,
