My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
Are you having good talks with President Joao Lourenco (JMGLG)? Are you working on the details of our $3B investment in the Lobito Corridor or are you dreaming up other infrastructure projects? Has the topic of landmines come up? In my Googling this AM I learned that Angola still has millions of landmines left in the rural countryside where groups like International Campaign to Ban Landmines hire locals to safely detonate the explosives. On a positive note, 40% of their workforce are women who make a living wage. Donations for this work are down, so please consider an investment into securing ag land so it can be used for farming.
Speaking of landmines, the junta continues to use them in Burma. They booby trap villages to terrorize people returning home after the bombing ends. According to Human Rights Watch, “mines have been planted at schools, medical clinics, monasteries & churches, plantations, cell towers & power stations, displacement camps, ports, development projects, & bridges,” contaminating their country.
Please ask JMGLG about the Mines Advisory Group & request that they send a crew to Burma. Also include that info in a speech to bring to light the ill effects of violence & to remind the world that WINTA!
Did you see the list of things folks at the NYT think you should do in your last 90 days in the WH?
My favorites include:
Pardon everyone who could be prosecuted under the Comstock Act by 45/47 for sending abortion pills to women in states with abortion bans.
Appoint as many federal judges as possible — both to the district level and to the appellate level.
Stop sending weapons to Bibi.
Designate three areas of land in California as National Monuments.
I hope you enjoy your trip to the National Slavery Museum tomorrow.
BYBS,
