JRB,
Yoga instructors tell their students to set an intention for the day. According to Karine Jean-Pierre yours is “focusing on the moment.” I’ll try that, too & avoid getting swept up with the speculation the future of our climate agreements, our immigrant neighbors, NATO or Ukraine. Que sera, sera.
Today, you’ll be at the launching of the Global Alliance Against Hunger & Poverty. Do you know what the plan is? In our household we come back to reproductive rights. Perhaps we were brainwashed in the 1970’s that population control was the answer. While heavy handed, we’d have more food & less oil consumption if we had fewer people. Perhaps you can try floating that possibility & see how it lands.
Please help me understand why you are now authorizing the use of ATACMS in Kursk. Is it because North Korea sent some soldiers there? Did you see DJT Jr’s assessment that “the military industrial complex seems to want to make sure they get World War III going before my father has a chance to create peace & save lives,” or Frank Ledwidge, from University of Portsmouth that this “last hurrah” is “vindictive.” While I doubt that’s your intention, adding more weapons to the mix is a BAD IDEA! WINTA!
I continue to marvel at the complexity of situations such as these. No easy answers, no obvious position to take. No good guy or bad guy, just humans bumbling through.
Today I find myself curious about the internet in Burma. Turns out Elon Musk is somewhat of a hero there. Perhaps I should say that his Starlink product is proving to be a life saver in a country that Freedom House’s survey scores the worst in the world regarding internet access.
I look forward to learning more about your visit to the confluence of the Amazon & Rio Negro. Should I go to Manaus & their living museum? I’d love to see Philodendrons living in the wild & maybe spy a poison frog.
I hope you have some fun in Rio today.
BYBS,
