JRB,
How was your meeting with Indonesia's Pres Prabowo Subianto, yesterday? He’s in a tricky spot trying to make us happy while also pleasing XJ. China buys most of their exports so staying on good terms with the PRC might be his highest priority.
Have you read Kafka? He’s on my mind because on Sat I heard Czech artist, David Cerny, lauding him. According to Wikipedia, Kafka used surrealist humor to explore themes of alienation & authoritarianism. I may be looking to him for inspiration when writing to 45/47.
Have you thought about recent suggestions that you resign so KDH can be POTUS? Carrie Friedman opining in the WP believes it will “show the world, especially this country’s moms, daughters, & the Black & Brown women who have carried this country on their backs, that it can happen, it can be done. A woman can be president.”
It might complicate the transition, but it would be exciting!
I hope you have a cordial meeting with 45 today. It seems that he can pour on the charm when he’s in private.
Perhaps you can use the time to let him know about the situation in Burma. The latest news from the Telegraph is that a group of foreigners have formed a small unit: the Anti-Fascist Internationalist Front (AIF). A guy who calls himself, Azad, from “the South” says, “I’m here to help you with your fight, but it’s my fight also. These fights we’re fighting all around the world, for democracy, for freedom, for dignity, are very much interconnected.”
You might ask 45/47 for his opinion of Min Aung Hlaing & whether he thinks he could make some kind of deal with him to end the conflict. 45/47 is averse to war so he might be receptive to a reminder that WINTA!
I hope that your Classroom to Career Summit today is a success. It’s lovely that Jill’s efforts to highlight the great work of our Community Colleges has been so successful. 45/47 was keen on apprenticeships in his last administration, so perhaps he will carry the torch forward.
BYBS,
