Welcome to November. Can you believe that it’s here? In just 5 days IT’s going to happen. I’m trying to be chill about the whole thing & stay hopeful.
My daughter & I head to Reno tomorrow to get out the vote. When we speak with women we’ll remind them that in order to have the right to choose when to have a baby, they should exercise their right to choose who holds office in DC. I look forward to talking with anyone who favors 45 to better understand their point of view.
Are you sure you should go to Philly today? If you go, please stick to the script about the Climate Core & putting kids to work in the circular economy & the cool project to invest $15.3 million to expand urban forestry, repurpose wood waste while providing career training opportunities. Focus on that & you should be fine!
How was your visit with Pres. Nikos Christodoulides of Cyprus on Wed? Did you agree on a way to freeze the Russian financial assets that are stashed there? Did you work out a deal for funneling humanitarian aid to Gaza? Who knew that a tiny island could be such an important ally!
I encourage you to read TIME’s feature on Burma which starts with, “The end may not be near, but the end is clear.” It goes on to state. “The disintegration of the junta seems to be well underway, as it faces pressure on all fronts—from rumors of internal strife to territorial losses to fallout from the ongoing humanitarian crisis across the country…What experts agree on is that the junta’s leadership turmoil, along with steady defections on the ground, spell impending collapse one way or another.” Another reminder that God is Change.
Unfortunately, it also quotes an Irrawaddy op-ed piece which included, “the struggle against the junta & today’s civil war will not be resolved with a big group hug & if care is not taken, regime collapse could simply lead to more war, with the same belligerents but new alliances.” Please keep your eye on the situation.
