My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I’m sorry you put the words “garbage” & “his supporters” together in one sentence.  As you know it reminded everyone of Hillary’s “deplorables” comment back in 2016. Best to just avoid negativity about the opposition & stick to positivity about KDH.

            What’s up with the meeting with Cyprus Republic President Nikos Christodoulides today? Do you have some magical plan to reunite the island? It’s been 50 years since the Greeks & Turks went their separate ways. Are you sure it’s a good thing to get them back together?

            As you well know governing diverse groups is a challenge? The majority group often ends up oppressing minority groups. As Sarah McBride opines, proximity has power, so perhaps its best to keep countries small so citizens can visit all parts of the country in a day. Then they can get to know everyone who shares their region & be more inclined to make compromises when needed.

            Thanks for drawing attention to Hispanic Serving Institutions today. I encourage you to invite my colleague, Marcela Cuellar to the WH to tell you how our universities need to change so that our Latin* students can flourish. She’s an expert on the topic.

            Please check in with United Nations Special Envoy to Burma, Julie Bishop. She’s traveling all over Southeast Asia and says, "I aim to understand the different & often conflicting perspectives so that through my role I can encourage greater coordination with regional & global efforts to facilitate an agreed solution.”

            I am looking forward to meeting some new doctoral students today. I am also putting the pieces of a grant proposal together so I need to turn my attention to other matters.
