My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            What are your thoughts on home decoration? How much time should someone invest in choosing paint colors & worrying about flooring? I am not inclined to give it much thought, so I am somewhat baffled when a neighbor tells me they are “house proud” & that the faulty remote controls for our ceiling fans is a monumental problem. I want to be supportive, but I’d also like to redirect their anger toward something of real consequence.

            I bring this up because I noticed that Jill has just renovated the WH visitor displays. I loved hearing her talk about the educative aspects of a trip to the WH, & while I appreciate that the folks should see the “People’s House” I wonder why it needs the fanciest china & most elaborate décor. I hope her project is well received & that whoever occupies the WH next doesn’t just tear it all down.

            I also hope whoever enters the WH next is a compassionate, kind & sane human being. Isn’t it troubling that we can’t take it for granted that our next POTUS will have those basic human traits?

            Since you only have 91 days left in the WH, it’s time to do something more remarkable than changing up the visitor interface! I’m afraid that the new rule you proposed today about mandating that health insurers provide free over-the-counter birth control isn’t flashy enough. Refusing arms to Bibi would get you front & center. Declaring WINTA would be even better. Why not go for it?

            Speaking of a news grabber, whoever lobbed the grenade into the Chinese consulate in Mandalay has gotten plenty of attention. The media speculates it has to do with Min Aung Hlaing’s upcoming trip to China, the first since the coup.

            Hey, why not do an experiment & see what happens when you make a short video about how XJ should not be hosting a terrorist. I’d love to see how many media outlets pick up that story.
