My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

                  It’s Friday. You’ll be spending the day talking to FEMA & sharing what you learn with the rest of us. When you do so, try to keep your cool. It will be hard when you are exhausted from bearing the weight of so much destruction. I’m afraid you lost it yesterday when you responded to a reporter’s question about 45’s crazy comments, that he needs to “Get a Life.” That is not the most mature thing to say.

                  I’m off to arrange some pennies with the 4th graders. I want them to see what 10,000 looks like so they begin to appreciate the iterative aspect of our base-ten system. We have one child in the room who some would call an HSC (highly sensitive child) who gets upset over minor offensives. I’m going to keep a close eye on him today to better understand his triggers & help him to pause rather than reacting.

                  Things in Burma continue to deteriorate. According to the G the junta has been bombing defenseless civilians. They “launched at least seven airstrikes in four days between 3 and 6 September. According to UNICEF, 10 children were among those killed. A pregnant woman also lost her unborn child.” Please send word to ASEAN that you are ready to support their efforts to find a way out of this conflict.

                  What should we do about rebuilding FL? Do you think we should even try? We know they will keep getting slammed by hurricanes. Do we try to design hurricane proof dwellings? Do we figure out a safe, fast evacuation infrastructure? Let’s not keep doing the same thing over & over again. It’s a waste of resources & feeds into the mindset that the planet is healthy.

                  God is change! Let’s embrace that idea & get ready for a hotter environment.
