My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            My 64th birthday is off to an excellent start. The train arrived at the SAC station EARLY! I got a spot for my bike & we are leaving exactly at 7:33.

            I know many special people who were also born on Oct 1. If you do the math, you can see we were conceived on the joyous occasion of News Years Eve, so our parents extended their celebrations by multiplying! Yeah!

            I’m so glad that Jimmy Carter (JEC) made it to his 100th birthday today. He & I are both square numbers – 10 x 10 & 8 x 8. I appreciated the birthday message you shared about JEC emphasizing his moral character. We were so blessed to have him as the 39th POTUS promoting peace between Egypt & Israel, pardoning Vietnam draft evaders & starting the Dept of Energy. He done good!

            Other folks with the birthday include Julie Andrews, my farmer friend in Indiana, Bish, my PhD student, Angie. all of whom are kind, generous souls. My Quaker Friend, Alexander is  turning 6 today & we made each other birthday cards on Sunday. He’s one of my best ministers! Maybe you could surprise one of these folks with a call. That would be awesome!

            SoW, I hope your call with the rabbis goes well today.

            Please check in with your people about the bogus census that the junta has started in Burma. They are sending out 40,000 enumerators, but the opposition forces are telling folks not to participate, so it’s going to be a mess! Another misguided plan in an effort to legitimize their reign of terror doomed to fail. Dang!

            My classes start today so I am excited to meet some new folks & ignite some neurons.
