My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
Congrats on your success in NH. It’s great that so many voters in the Granite State showed up to the polls to write you in! Let’s hope that Nicki Haley stays in the race.
Sorry to ghost you for the past week. I was celebrating my mom’s 90th with 11/12 of her offspring. My NYC niece couldn’t make it but everyone else was there. Connectivity at her house was intermittent so I elected to be present & eschew the news. It was nice to have a break.
I’m not sure I am using the word, “ghost,” correctly. I think it means to be out of touch, but it might be more like failing to respond when contacted. Spending time with my 26-year-old offspring (ELD) reminds me that my vocabulary is failing to keep up.
Speaking of word choice, Toluse Olorunnipa writes, “the president largely has steered clear of using the word “abortion” — instead opting for terms like “freedom,” “choice” & “care.” I suggest you adopt the term, “termination” & use my ELD’s lexicon & replace the word “fetuses,” with a “collection of cells.” This vocabulary focuses more on the woman’s choice to control her body rather than on the collection of cells removed when doctors end a pregnancy.
Amanda Zurawski did a great job of telling her termination story at your rally in Manassas yesterday. It’s too bad that your remarks were interrupted by the Gaza protestors.
Speaking of which, how are you doing on persuading Bibi to halt his attacks? Please remember WINTA!
What are your people thinking about the situation in Burma? I’m sure you saw that 3 of the generals who surrendered are going to be executed. Gen Min Aung Hlaing (MAH) must be living in a state of terror which we know makes it hard to think straight.
Friend Robert Griswold writes that “Fear comes from the ego’s need to defend itself. Hence, the only way to let go of fear is to find a guide other than self.” I hope MAH, Bibi & 45 discover new guides soon!
BYBS,
