My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
My BP obsession is waning. This AM’s read was 95/54. So I speculate that the 153/76 read from Sat AM was due to your bombing Yemen without consulting Congress. Please stop doing stuff like that! It stresses me out.
Your trip to Phillie to help out at Philabudnace inspired me to check out what’s happening for MLK Day in Davis. I learned that UCD is gathering donations for Wellspring Women’s Center, so I am giving them some tea & will tune into the address by Superior Court Judge Allison Williams.
Should I visit Phillie in April? Our iELD team will be presenting at the AERA conference whose theme is “Dismantling Racial Injustice & Constructing Educational Possibilities: A Call to Action.” I hesitate to go on plane rides given my climate concerns, but I’ve never been to PA. I’m eager to attend a Quaker Meeting at one of the original Friends Meeting Houses. If the schedule aligns, I may go.
You need to get Patrick Mahomes on your campaign team. The guy is a winner! His game on Sat was “the most frigid game in Chiefs history & 4th-harshest in the annals of the NFL.” His helmet shattered when he collided with Dolphins safety DeShon Elliott. Despite the cold, he completed 23 of 41 passes for 262 yards. The guy is a magician.
Speaking of magicians, we need to cultivate that kind of person in Burma. Someone who is creative, charismatic, resilient & brilliant. Someone like MLK, who can bring the various EAOs together & speak in a unified voice against the junta.
My read of Bayard Rustin (BR)’s Life in Letters indicates that MLK had to coalesce many groups in his Civil Rights efforts & had to fend off numerous attempts by Storm Thurmond & his cronies to defame his advisors, especially BR.
I hope some inspirational leaders emerge soon here & abroad. We need some fresh blood to engender hope. No offense.
BYBS,
