My Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Did you ever meet Malcom X (MX)? Stephen Cooper suggests MX would call you the “pretender public defender,” because you haven’t done enough to reform prisons & have not followed through on your promises about the death penalty. Food for thought!

Ken Mekin equates him with MLK Jr. & calls him” a revolutionary minister in the service of humankind (who struggled) with the fierce urgency of now.” We need someone like him to shake us up today.

Some celebrated MX Day on Friday & others will celebrate today. It’s an official holiday in Berkeley What do you think of the idea of making MX Day a federal holiday?  

            Speaking of federal holidays, it just occurred to me this AM that we don’t have any that honor women. The National Collaborative for Women's History Sites has a campaign to make Women’s Equality Day a federal holiday. If we do that, I’d like to see Lucy Stone get her due.  She formed the American Woman Suffrage Association (AWSA) because she couldn’t abide by Stanton & Anthony’s stance on race. She’s my hero!

            What did you accomplish at the G7 besides taking lots of photos?

            Did you speak to anyone about Cyclone Mocha & the Rohingya who need help in the Rahkine state? The NUG reports that more than 400 people were killed & many more are missing. Survivors are struggling with a lack of food & medical supplies. Please make a statement about the situation so they know we care.

            Please reconsider your choice to send F-16s to Ukraine. Esclating that conflict is NOT a good idea. WINTA!
