            The 3 dogs in my house need to read the Bible starting with Timothy, 6-18, “Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, & 2 be generous & willing 2 share.” Karissa had never been interested in Good Lovin Rawhide chews until I pulled some out this AM to give to her & the 2 foster puppies. Now she is chasing & snarling at them to get their chews.

The scarcity mentality kicks in & we hoard.

            Please do you best to remind Americans to heed the Bible’s suggestion to beware of greed & to adopt a mindset of abundance. We live in the most prosperous country in the world & we have plenty to share.

            Your remarks today at the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIRE FIGHTERS (IAFF) Legislative conference would be a good venue for spreading this word.

            As you know the IAFF will be hitting the Hill today to lobby for The Public Safety Employer-Employee Cooperation Act, which would give fire & EMS personnel basic collective bargaining rights in states that currently do not provide them & protect these rights in states where they exist but could be repealed.

Please ask the IAFF if CA inmates are in their union. I hope so. They are vulnerable to exploitation & firefighting is SO dangerous – being caught in a firestorm, smoke inhalation, toxin exposure, etc. All workers, including prisoners, need safeguards. Please let me know what you learn.

            Speaking of fire, please help the Rohingya refugees who have just been burned out of their homes in Balukhali camp in Cox Bazar. Their shelters were minimal, but to lose that shred of privacy & security must be devastating. Now 12,000 refugees who were already dealing with a cut in their food rations, have to replace their belongings. The estimated damage from the fire is $7.4 million.

Please ask Congress to abide by the Bible & share. Even better, please ask them to open their hearts to refugees everywhere & allow them access to the stolen lands we inhabit & the abundance they provide.
