My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
I just listened to your remarks at the Friends of Ireland Lunch yesterday & was reminded that your g-pa was named Ambrose. His 1st name is my last name, that connects us in a weird sort of way. I enjoyed your story about his loyalty to the Scranton City Chairman & his admonition to you to “never yield.” He sounds like an inspirational guy.
Apparently, the Irish love you due to your having 10 great-great-grandparents who were born there including the Blewitts from County Mayo & the Finnegans from County Louth.
It’s nice you & Kevin McCarthy being civil & bonding over being Irish. As you know he claimed that’s why Reagan & Tip O’Neill collaborated. He made it sound like they were best buddies, but the New Yorker suggested “contrary to Washington mythology, (they) never became close.” They were able to “pass the Tax Equity and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 1982, which increased tax revenues by about one per cent of G.D.P…set up a bipartisan commission on Social Security… & pass a set of reforms that put the finances of the public retirement system on a firmer footing.” Perhaps KOM was sending a message that he’s ready for that kind of thing.
I appreciated your emphasis on hope. It’s time for you to send some to the people in Burma. I encourage you to be in touch with David Eubank who runs “Free Ranger Burma.” He’s all about hope & writes on his website, “a sorrow shared is divided; a joy shared is multiplied. That is how we grow closer together & love each other through everything. ..Please join us in prayer for a change of heart for the dictators & the Burma Army, for a new government founded in love & forgiveness, & for reconciliation & the building of a new Burma.”

PS – I was exposed to CV so I am staying home to do my taxes rather than visiting the Bay Area. Boo hoo.
