            Jill should run for POTUS. She has vicariously been running the country for 2 years. At 71, the age thing won’t matter. The Biden reign will continue but without the Y chromosome. If she won, we could see what happens when a woman is in charge.

            I am SO ready for a woman to be in charge after reading Roger Cohen (RC)’s NYT piece this AM. He claims we are in “the Age of Reordering” in which “the war has laid bare the path before Europe: how to transform itself from peace power to muscular geopolitical protagonist.” UGH!!!

He employs fancy verbiage (uneasy interregnum ) as he celebrates the fact that Europe is arming itself. He denigrates the German people for “healing slowly from the Nazi horror “ & being “unable to imagine the idea of a just war.”

            My read of RC is that he believes war is inevitable, that there are good guys & bad guys & military spending is the answer. I have had enough of that mentality & am sorry that the NYT put his article at the top of their webpage.

            Simon Tisdall’s piece in the G was more appealing. He shares my concern about labeling people as “the enemy.” He suggests that while you “mean well,” you are showing your age with “florid, outdated ‘us and them’ rhetoric” which is “a geopolitical dead end.”

He notes that “Ukraine has survived, so far, but what of next-door Belarus, where the west watched as pro-democracy activists were crushed? What of Myanmar, where a Beijing-backed junta commits daily crimes against humanity?”

Like me he thinks WINTA as he concludes, “the whole idea of the west successfully waging a universal, modern-day democracy crusade – or second cold war – is deaf to history, blind to change, surreptitiously neo-imperialist. More to the point, it’s a losing proposition.”  

            I suspect that if Jill were POTUS she might propose a different approach to the conflicts in the world. Please let her know I am ready to join her campaign.
