            Ian is losing steam & FL is cleaning up. I expect that you will head down there to survey the damage. I hope Ron DeSantis continues to be on his best behavior. Perhaps, he will see the Light & let his God shine through more often.

            I hope your meeting with the leaders of the Pacific Islands goes well today. It’s unfortunate that Manasseh Sogavare of the Solomon Islands has decided to reject the draft agreement your folks proposed. I’m afraid that he is heading in the same direction as so many leaders in the world today, consolidating power by delaying elections. His islands are among the most vulnerable to climate change. Some have already been overcome by sea level rise. Perhaps some promises to do more to address those issues would get him on board.

            If you need a lift, take a look at Lizzo’s performance in the Library of Congress on James Madison’s crystal flute. The joy she gets from hearing its magical sound is infectious. You might invite her to the WH for a performance.

            It’s discouraging to see that the junta has sentenced Sean Turnell to 3 years in prison for helping Aung San Suu Kyi. Please express your outrage at the generals’ use of the Burmese legal system to prosecute him for “violating the secrets act” to give themselves the veneer of legitimacy. Most citizens aren’t buying it, but certainly they are intimidated.

            It’s too bad that some are making fun of your senior moment yesterday when you forgot that Rep. Jackie Walorski (IN-2) died in a car crash a little while ago. I encourage you to admit the gaffe & move on.
