My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Just a quick note this AM as I have to get going to our retreat. I am thinking of it as a “gathering” instead of a “meeting” so I can approach it with a sense of curiosity & joy, rather than resignation. “Gathering” emphasizes that assembling is more about the people than the agenda. Workplaces in America are at the dawn of a new age where the people matter more than the product & having meaning in our labors will fuel the nation. Perhaps you can popularize that idea & take time in all of your gatherings for participants to bond with one another.

            Thanks for supporting the DISCLOSE Act. I am thrilled to see some energy behind making campaign donations transparent.

            Please call Rep Gregory Meeks (NY5) to strategize about how to ensure that the BURMA Amendment is included in the NDAA Act this year. GM tried to include it in 2021,but didn’t have the votes.

If you have read any of my letters, you know that the situation in Burma continues to deteriorate. GM’s 13 terms in Congress representing NYC makes him an expert in the importance of a healthy financial industry so perhaps he can discuss the recent failure of banks in Burma to make his case. I’m sure the two of you can come up with some great ideas. Please get together so we can show support for Myanmar's Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) and its democratic and multi-ethnic new National Unity Government (NUG).
