My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Thanks for setting up the ARPA-H & putting Dr. Renee Wegrzyn in charge. Ezra Klein writing in the NYT suggests that the ARPA-H will be more agile than NIH & suggests they could implement Bernie Sanders’ plan to incentivize drug companies to develop products where the 1st group to develop and prove out a critical drug would get a princely sum in return for making the drug be immediately off-patent, available for any generic drug producer to manufacture for a pittance.

            How are things in London? QE2’s passing sure has attracted a lot of attention. How long did you have to stand in line to pay your respects? The queuing time for the general public is at least 10 hours so they aren’t letting anyone else join the line.

Do you know what they are planning to do with her remains? I hope they don’t keep her around like they have Lenin, who has been dead for almost 100 years. A team of 6 Russian scientists works to keep his corpse looking good, replacing bits & pieces with plastic as things decay. I don’t know what to think about that.

            I saw some photos of you in Detroit at the auto show. Did you enjoy visiting with Mary Barra & bragging about replacing America’s fleet of cars with EVs? I’m sure she cringed when you said you preferred your Corvette to the Cadillac, because GM won’t have an electric version of that until 2025.

I am not into cars & can hardly tell a Cadillac from a Corvette. When I got my car smogged last weekend, I wasn’t even sure what kind of Lexus I have. I purchased it from my neighbor’s mom a couple of years ago & rarely drive it. It costs $75 to fill up right now, so I am better off on my bike. Please plan to go to the (E)revolution the 1st E-bike trade show in the nation next June in Denver. E-bikes are the vehicles of the future. You should get one to travel around DC.

            As usual I ask that 1) you attend to the situation in Burma & recognize the NUG and 2) you not sell any weapons to anyone.
