My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

It’s wonderful to see that Joe Manchin has come around & is supporting the Inflation Reduction Act. Do you think you can get Kyrsten Sinema on board? The plan might need to change to get her buy-in. According to Axios she’s not a fan of “the $14 billion in new revenue from taxing carried interest” (whatever that is.)

            Have you heard of Gen Xers who subscribe to FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) & talk about the econoME? The CSM claims they are “escaping the flames” of inflation. So far, I am, too. Cheapskates rule!

            As you get back into the swing of things, please do not forget to speak out against the executions in Burma. India has done, so. Now it’s your turn.

            If you need more information about the people who the junta killed, take a look at today’s obit in the NYT for U Phyo Zeya Thaw. He’s the rapper who became a politician. He believed that “with hip-hop, we can express ourselves without fear. Music can make us brave.” Once he was elected to parliament, he became close with Aung San Suu Kyi & in addition to helping to prepare briefing papers on legislation and peace talks with ethnic minority rebels was known to calm her dog. He did not deserve to die for standing up for his rights. Please say his name & condemn his execution.
