My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            So good to see you back in the saddle again! I think you were smart to get rid of the toe clips. As you learned, they are dangerous. The guys in the Tour de France (TDF) may get mechanical advantage from them, but casual riders, like you & I, are better off without them.

             Speaking of which, are you following the TDF? Yesterday, they were in the mountains. Fans thought that the climbing specialist, Thibaut Pinot (TP), could win the stage but he didn’t have quite enough juice to catch up to the winner, Bob Jungels. TP has endured a lot over the past few years, so the French were excited to see him do so well. I encourage you to follow his efforts in the next 2 weeks.

            Thanks for doing all you can to ensure the health of women who need abortions. Fingers crossed that young folks & women will get out to the polls in Nov & elect some officials who will inscribe women’s reproductive rights into law. In the meantime, the news on that front is grim!

            Other grim news comes from Burma where the junta is installing facial recognition cameras to find & track dissidents. They have tenders to buy Huawei products so they are opening themselves up to being spied on by China. That’s the problem with spying, it starts off an infinite loop of surveillance, making everyone suspicious of everyone else. Yuk!

            Enjoy your visit with the NASA folks today. Looking at the 1st images from the Webb Space Telescope should be exciting!
