JRB,
Thanks for your kindness. How nice to have a president that lets people know they are loved despite their flaws. So much better than having a POTUS who liked to say, “You’re fired.”
Thanks for hosting the showing of Ken Burn’s documentary, Hiding in Plain Sight, about kids who struggle with mental health issues. It was a great way to advertise 988 which I learned about our psychiatrist’s tweet. Unfortunately, it’s not getting the press it deserves. Everyone needs to know that they can call those #s anytime they need to talk.
Thanks also for welcoming Danielle Green & the other wounded warriors to the WH this AM as they rode through DC on their 4-day bike trip. It’s inspiring to see folks like Danielle keep on, keeping on, despite suffering from life changing injuries in battle. I hope seeing those wounded warriors reminded you WINTA.
Thanks in advance for following the advice that Thinzar Shunlei Yi provided in her opinion piece in today’s NYT to sanction Myanma Oil and Gas Enterprise (MOGE). She writes that it brings in “at least $1.5 billion per year (to the junta) through the sale of natural gas… much of that comes from the major gas field that Chevron and France’s TotalEnergies operate along with MOGE.” She says that Chevron lobbyists have convinced you not to sanction MOGE & asks us all to recall that “as the gas revenue flows, so will the blood of Myanmar’s people.”
As you know, Chevron CEO Michael Wirth plans to come to DC today to speak with Secretary Granholm. I encourage you to stop by & tell him you will do as he asked in his recent letter to you & stop vilifying his industry if he pulls out of his arrangement with MOGE. While you’re at it you can applaud his investment of “$10 billion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions & scale new advanced energy technologies, like carbon capture and hydrogen, along with growing our renewable liquid fuels production capacity to 100,000 barrels/day by 2030.”
BYBS,
