My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Did you enjoy Survivor last night? RogerEbert.com gave it 4 stars & said it explored “the cold-blooded and self-serving arbitrariness of hatred.” I understand there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. I’m surprised that you haven’t used the WH movie room prior to last night’s showing. If I had access to it, I’d use it all the time. I love seeing movies on big screens in dark rooms.

            Speaking of movies, David Sirota, writing in the G, used the “Joker” as a vehicle to discuss his disappointment in your presidency. Since I haven’t watched that movie, I did not follow his discussion of the “Joker pill,” but I did comprehend his critique. He asserts that your inability to follow through on your promises is fueling the disillusionment that the previous POTUS fomented. It’s a disturbing interpretation of our present situation, but it was one of only 3 articles with your name on it, so I read it.

            The NYT article “Solar Industry ‘Frozen’ as Biden Administration Investigates China” looked equally depressing & the WP piece about the correspondence dinner was too fluffy. No one covered your call today with Mexico’s President AMLO. I hope your press people are busy figuring out a way to keep your name in the news.
