My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            The ask of the day is the usual – do what you can to help Myanmar. Please call India, PM NDM & ask him to stop exporting arms to the Tatmadaw.  India has the 3rd highest defense spending in the world which is a waste of resources in a country that has trouble feeding its people. Please recall WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER (WINTA).

            On a more light hearted matter, what will you be doing with the metal hockey stick that the Lightening players gave you yesterday? Put it in a vault somewhere? Stick in the Oval Office (no pun intended)? In any case, it’s nice that you had a chance to celebrate “Bolt Nation’s” 2nd consecutive Stanley Cup victory right before they go after their 3rd.

            Isn’t it funny that there’s a hockey team in Tampa Bay, where it rarely gets cold enough for a puddle to freeze? Most people there have never played the game themselves, yet, they enjoy watching it. It’s also a bit odd that you invited all of those players to the WH when only 5 of them are Americans. Did you put a special Secret Service detail on the 3 Russians to make sure they didn’t sneak off to steal some secrets?

            Have you tried playing hockey? My dad was a fanatic! I think he liked the contact. In Jan, he would rush home from the train, gobble some food & ride his bike over to the rink to play a pick-up game. I have no idea if he was any good, but he loved it.

I played occasionally in my figure skates, which were less than optimal. I depended on my toe pick to make quick stops, when I should have been picking up my feet. One of my few regrets was that I did not play in college when women’s hockey was just becoming a thing & they were taking anyone who could skate. It would have been the perfect sport for me.

Please be sure to invite the Ohio State women’s hockey team to the WH to celebrate their winning of the NCAA championship. It might inspire some girls to play.
