My dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            My heart is heavy this morning thinking of all of the children in the world caught in the midst of armed conflict that they don’t understand. According to Save the Children, 1 child in 6, lives in a conflict zone, & many are being recruited to get involved.

I worry about the children in the Ukraine, some of whom were born into war & know nothing else.

I worry about 8-year old, Vaniangcer, a child of the Mizo people who fled from the Chin State in Myanmar. She is doing her best continue her education in a new language. She is fortunate that the principal of her school in the Mizoram State has the courage to defy Indian mandates preventing refugee children from attending school.

            I know you share my concerns & encourage you to keep up your efforts to address the many issues that affect our children. All those guys trying to force their will on others need a way to save face. Your advisors, especially those with XX chromosomes, may have some creative ideas to provide those misguided XYers with some grace.

            The children themselves give me hope. Kids, like Joshua Davis, lift my spirits. Didn’t he do a wonderful job introducing you in Culpeper this week? Seeing a 12-year-old diabetic advocating for change to prescription prices inspired me.

I was also energized by interacting with the 10-year-olds at Hight elementary on Tues who are so eager to learn about volume & fractions. Perhaps you’d like to join me sometime.

            For our children’s sake, please avoid war & put CCC at the top of your agenda. We are heading for a world of hurt if we don’t change our fuel consumption habits.
