My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I am writing while keeping one eye on the World Cup Consolation game. My limited knowledge of Croatia & Morocco led me to do a Google search to see how democratic each country is. A great website, Freedom House, gave “freedom” scores for each using 25 different ratings. Croatia gets a score of 85% while Morocco’s is 37% suggesting that the guys in red feel somewhat oppressed.

Was Morocco’s king at the summit this week? If so, did you request that he refrain from interfering with government affairs & the press? The eyes of the world are on the soccer team, so the king could implement some reform to attract some foreign investments.

I was surprised to learn that Burma was not on the International Rescue Committee (IRC)’s list of top ten humanitarian crises. Somalia tops the IRC list, due in part to their dependence on Ukrainian & Russian wheat & a 4-year drought. I understand Somalia “Pres.” Hassan Sheikh Mohamud visited the WH this week & had a meeting with LTG. I’m sure he was looking for help with al-Shabaab. Please recall that WINTA & send them food rather than weapons. As you do so, please recall that their “freedom” score is 7% & women are exploited, so please attach some strings to our assistance.

The World Economic Forum  (WEF) has 3 recommendations to “protect the guardrails & rethink our response to crisis.” Please talk with WEF Pres. Børge Brende, about these recs, & do what you can to make the whole world a better place.  

FYI. Burma WAS among the top 20 countries on the IRC’s list & has a 9% “freedom” score. The general is so desperate for resources that he is urging people to ride bicycles if they are “patriotic” because bicycles do not need fuel. Why not commission Milwaukee Bicycle Co to build a fleet of commuter bikes for the people of Yangon?
