My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

 You must be on cloud 9! Your “scorched-earth” approach of waking voters up to the fact that democracy is a precarious & precious thing worked & despite the fact that you are more “unpopular” than most POTUSs  “the vaunted red wave never hit the shore in midterm elections…inflation wasn’t the whole story… & Democrats found an issue (Reproductive Rights) to rally their base around (WP).”

You must be delighted to see that your many trips to PA paid off & John Fetterman will be their new Senator & it looks like Christopher Deluzio will be representing (PA-17).

My BFF is delighted that Tony Evers will continue to be her governor. She prefers her politicians have some experience & doesn’t mind if they are boring.

Isn’t it wonderful to see that the old White boy network continues to erode? People holding higher officer are more diverse than ever. We’ve got our 1st openly lesbian governor, MD has its 1st Black governor, & AR & MA are the 1st states to elect women to serve as governor and lieutenant governor at the same time. 

I am most excited about Rep elect from FL-10, Maxwell Alejandro Frost, the 1st Afro-Cuban to serve in Congress. Thanks for calling him last night & sharing what it was like to be a youngster in Congress. Please do what you can to help him achieve his goal of universal background checks for gun owners.

I am on Cloud 9, too. Not only am I relieved by the election returns, I am happy to see that you are heading to the Phnom Penh summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to discuss Burma among other things.
