My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,
According to the Frederick-News-Post you were warmly received yesterday. What did you think of the Mack LR Electric battery-electric refuse vehicle?
Thanks for pardoning folks convicted of MJ possession. According to Vox, this is a step in the right direction, but they caution readers, “Hold on to your lighters - you won’t necessarily be able to spark up in the streets just yet.”
Congrats on getting on the KCS front page which noted KS Gov. Laura Kelly can’t do blankets pardons as you suggested & MO folks will soon be voting on an Amendment to their constitution to legalize MJ use.
Vox’s article raises all kinds of questions. Do you think rescheduling MJ will lead to federal marijuana legalization? Will the WH staffers, you fired in 2021 for their MJ use, get their jobs back? Is this a ploy to get voter support for the midterm elections? Or is it a real shift in policy direction? I suspect that you are still mulling over next steps.
As you mull over next steps, please consider what’s next for the people of Burma. Twitter is full of disturbing news about junta atrocities & tweets show the courageous citizens who continue to resist. The most uplifting one showed a protest of about a hundred people of various ages riding their bikes chanting anti-junta slogans. They were in the midst of rice fields & seemed to be enjoying themselves.
The Burmese bike riders were feeling the joy that comes from the brain’s release of oxytocin which comes when folks make noise together. The people who participate in today’s Women’s Wave Day of Action will be feeling it, too, as they march down the streets of America today. Please give them your encouragement.
Alas, I won’t be marching as I need to work on the department letters for my colleagues who are going up for promotions. It is a privilege to sing their praises so I will be feeling some oxytocin, too.
Perhaps you will get a shot of Oxy when you sing during mass this evening.
BYBS,
