My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            My condolences to you. I’m not sure whose funeral you will be attending in NYC today, but I hope you find some comfort from gathering to celebrate the life of a loved one. No matter whose funeral one attends, it’s always draining to be reminded of the fragility of life. I am sending good vibes your way.

            Did you hear that the “the junta-controlled Ministry of Information announced via state media on Sat. that the Irrawaddy news outlet has been banned & its license revoked for damaging “state security, rule of law and public tranquility.” I’m not sure what the implications of this may be since they operate out of Thailand. Does it mean that people caught looking at the website will be imprisoned? If so, the generals are getting more & more desperate by the day.

            Did you have a nice quiet weekend? Several pundits think your choice to eschew campaigning now is wise. The G called it “part of a concerted strategy designed for an unpopular president in a challenging election year.” They quote your guy, Ron Klain, explaining your departure from former POTUSs’ practice,  “I don’t think it should surprise anyone that we’re not using the strategy that failed in 2010, and the strategy that failed in 2018.”

            Whether it’s a smart move or not, I’m all for it. Less travel is good for the environment! The more I learn, the more I am convinced that the way out of climate change is less consumption due to changed lifestyles, including less travel & fewer babies. Not a popular message but perhaps necessary.
