My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I’ll be settling into Meeting for Worship in about an hour. Sitting in front of my computer in silence where about 20 little boxes will show faces of other people doing the same. Most of us will have our eyes closed & occasionally someone will say something, but most of the time we’ll all be on mute.

            An alien from another planet would find this behavior odd, but an alien from another planet would find most religious activity odd. Eating a wafer, blowing the shofar, kissing the ground, making a sand mandala, dancing in elaborate costumes – all of these things seem rather strange when observed from afar, but they feed the souls of the faithful. As you know we each have our personal relationship with the higher power. Hopefully, that relationship brings out the best in us. So, we should each be free to pursue these rituals.

            I am writing to you about this because I just read the piece in today’s Politico about the challenging position that you are in as a devout Catholic POTUS who is Pro-Choice. They noted that, for you, communion is a magical moment when you connect to God & that mass brings you peace.  I hope that your trip to Brandywine church yesterday renewed your energy & filled you with love.

            Is the ASEAN envoy to Myanmar, Erywan Yusof, accurate in claiming that all parties in Myanmar have agreed to a 4-month cease-fire to allow humanitarian aid to flow into the country? The first shipment is supposed to include medical equipment. I know they are in desperate need of oxygen machines. Please provide whatever assistance we can.
