My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I’m surprised that I couldn’t find any pictures of you signing off on things yesterday. No photo of vets & dogs in the Oval Office or of descendants of Hellfighters. Your calendar indicates that these events happened so it’s odd that there aren’t photos.

I’m sure there will be some photos of today’s visit with his Excellency Naftali Bennett, Prime Minister of the State of Israel. I ran out of time this AM to find out what you, two,  might be talking about. I am relieved that Bibi is no longer in charge there.

I am thrilled to hear you will be talking with governors from across the country who “have raised their hands to temporarily house or help resettle vulnerable Afghans and welcome them to their new communities.” I look forward to learning more about that.

            I suspect that OR Gov. Kate Brown will be on the call. Her state graciously accepted Abbas Karimi, featured in today’s NYT for participating in swimming events on the Refugee Paralympic Team in Tokyo. He left Afghanistan 8 years ago & ended up in Portland for a time. He is amazing! He was born without arms so he propels himself through the water with just his legs. I’m sure he swims twice as fast as I do. Inspiring!!

            I understand that you are upset with Reps Seth Moulton (SWM) (MA-06) & Peter Meijer (PJM) (MI-03) for flying to Kabul to see for themselves what’s going on there. I suggest you tread lightly when taking on those two. I probably don’t need to remind you that SWM has 3 degrees from Harvard, 2 medals for valor & is proud of being a grunt in Iraq. He is known for “attacking the system from within” having led the charge to unseat NPP. Undoubtedly, his buddy, heir to billions, PJM, paid for the plane. PJM is too young to know better & while SWM is dedicated to spending his life making a better world for others, his confidence that he always knows what’s best, makes him a challenge.
