My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            How’s Major? Does he miss Champ or is he happy to be the only dog in the house? Has he bitten anyone lately?

My animal companion, Karissa, is back after having been bred last week. I’m not sure how I feel about this breeding business. Being a mom is hard work & Karissa didn’t seem to enjoy it with her 1st litter. On the other hand, people love Norwich Terriers, so maybe the nuisance that pregnancy & motherhood causes her, is worth it in the grand scheme of things.

            Willful ignorance? Self-deception? Are these the psychological states that explain the GOP folks who are making CV vaccination into a political statement? The G had some choices phrases to discuss this phenomenon noting that the “highly contagious variant scythes through the red states” to create “self-inflicted wounds of polarization.” My staunch Republican dad & Grandpa Dr. would be so disturbed to see their treasured party operating in such a questionable fashion. I wonder what it will take for DJT & his minions to change their tune.

            I hope that you are staying in touch with your colleagues around the world to make sure that when the question of Myanmar’s representation at the UN comes up for a vote in the General Assembly Credentials Committee on Sept. 15, the NLD is recognized as the legitimate government.
