My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Happy Palm Sunday. The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Pizzaballa, is excited that so many people in Israel have been vaccinated that he could lead a group of worshippers on a procession from the Mount of Olives to the Old City. They even got to go into the Holy Sepulchre He says that Holy Week is a time for us to remember “the power of love and life,” so let’s be sure to do that.

         We talked about that this morning in our Yangon Meeting for Worship. We had people from Poland, England, Japan & the US holding the people of Myanmar in the Light. I was disturbed to learn that the generals placate their soldiers by giving them drugs which they call  Ya ba which is a mix of methamphetamine and caffeine. The Nazis gave it to their soldiers, too. The Burmese military is quite segregated from the rest of society & constantly hears propaganda so it will be hard to get them to stop killing their fellow citizens.

            Speaking of drugs, I had the fantasy that we could find a time when the generals are assembled in a room & then pipe ketamine into the room. They would all have a mind-blowing experience which would break them free from their hate induced hysteria. My Friend imagines that all the generals gang up on Min Aung Hlaing & blame him for the crackdown & send him off to be tried at an international court.

            We are all working to keep hope alive. Let’s keep at it.
