My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I hope you have a productive conversation with Pres. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador today (AMLO). You, two, have so much to talk about. I understand that he developed an appreciation for DJT because DJT “respected his sovereignty.” Bringing out the best in one’s neighbor can be a challenge. Keeping lines of communication open is a great starting point so I’m glad you are taking the time for your conversation today.

            I got a smile out of reading about Jill’s visit to Brewer’s Café in Richmond, VA in the WP. They called it a “semi-stealth visit” & suggested she wants to bring attention to Black owned small businesses. I saw that she purchased a bunch of Valentine’s treats to take to Camp David from Sweet Lobby. That one got my attention because the owner is an Ambrose. I had no idea there were Ambroses in Trinidad. I hope to meet Winette someday, because not only do we share the same last name, we share a passion for baking & STEM education. I’m sure her PhD in Biomedical Engineering comes in handy when she’s thinking through a new cooking technique. Maybe you can invite her to the WH so she can show off her award-winning cupcake baking talents.

            I’m worried about Kansas City. Yesterday, they had 3 murders in one day, including one by my daughter’s home. Like many major cities, KC had a record number of homicides in 2020. Some of the victims have been children, including 4-yr old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot in his sleep. That particular case got lots of attention because LeGend had a heart condition & had survived one surgery & was due for another. U.S. Attorney Tim Garrison brought a bunch of federal agencies to launch “Operation LeGend” to help local police in several cities. I understand that the operation ended when DJT left office. I don’t know if it helped, but let’s redouble our efforts to prevent this kind of violence.
