My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            I’m sorry to hear that Major had a “biting incident” & has been banished from the WH. Having a full-size German Shepard attack you would be rather unnerving. Best to keep the dogs in DE for their own safety. Perhaps a smaller dog would fit better at the WH.

Our dogs are getting feisty, too. The pups are at the chew stage & like to chomp on my feet. Luckily, they weigh less than 3 lbs so they can’t do much damage. Their mom gets defensive when she hears people near the house, especially children. She hasn’t bitten anyone, though.

            It looks like the American Rescue Plan (ARP) is progressing through Congress & will be on your desk soon. I hope your guy, Bharat Ramamurti, can keep track of $1.9 trillion & make sure that it gets spent as intended. That’s a pretty daunting task!

            I hope this stimulus package does a better job than the last 4. According to a fascinating WP article from 10/5/20, the others missed the mark. Companies like Omni Hotel got $ in the Paycheck Protection Program that weren’t used to retain employees. United Natural Foods got a $23 million tax break when their revenue went up by 1 billion $. We ended up subsidizing businesses for losses they had in 2018 & 19. That’s the one that troubles me most. United Airlines & Boeing are a mess. Anyone who has been at ORD during a snowstorm can tell that the corporate culture at United is toxic & Boeing has had 1 debacle after another. I don’t like seeing my hardearned tax $ used to keep them afloat or should I say, aloft?

I pestered DJT about those 2 companies & the cruise industry to no avail. The cruise industry is a luxury that the planet can no longer afford. I hope cruise companies are not benefiting from the ARP.

            Anyway, I promise to spend my $1400 check wisely. I hope my fellow Americans do the same.
