My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Thank you for setting such a good example for us! I like the way that you are ignoring DJT & getting down to business. The pickle that he has gotten himself into won’t end well. As you know, he parted company with his lawyers, so he’s up a creek without a paddle. Perhaps you will pray for him during Mass today. I will be holding him in the Light during my Meeting for Worship. Maybe he will go to church & get some divine inspiration. I’m sure we would both welcome that miracle.

            I hope you will entertain the ideas about a relief package that Sen. Susan Collins & her colleagues plan to bring to you tomorrow. I’m sure you will, at least, be a good listener. I think we can live without the $15/hour minimum wage & I know that I don’t need another stimulus check. Since they are willing to invest $160 billion into vaccine delivery, CV testing & health care, I encourage you to go for their plan. The budget reconciliation process sounds like it will take forever, & we need to improve the vaccination delivery system right now so my 87-year-old mother can stop wasting several hours a day trying to get her shot. I will keep my fingers crossed that you all come up with something that 60 Senators can say, “YES” to. A compromise would move this whole Unity thing from a fantasy into a reality.

            I encourage you to take a look at the cute article in the WP about DOTUSs. Apparently many POTUS made doggie care a priority. Gerald Ford went so far as to pick up after his golden retriever, because, “No man should have to clean up after another man’s dog.” Who cleans up after Major & Champ?

            Speaking of such things, I better go walk Karissa so she doesn’t have an accident in the house.
