My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            We have 3 little puppies in our house. They are 11 days old & squeak. They can’t see & can just barely move. We are taking care of them & their mom for my friend who breeds Norwich Terriers. They are a welcome diversion from the news of the day.

            Speaking of dogs, I am so glad that you have Champ & Major to divert you from the news of the day. I grew up with a German Shepard so seeing them in the WH makes me nostalgic. Our dog, Duchess, was a licker machine. Any child who approached her would get their face cleaned. Do your dogs do that?

            I really like this “whole-government” approach that your advisors are talking about related to climate change. Hearing Gina McCarthy referring to environmental justice on PBS last night, & then this AM Pete Buttigieg saying that “all of the levers working in the same direction” gave me a huge sense of relief! It seems that your team members are talking to each other & getting on the same page.

            I like to imagine the day when all of our citizens get on the same page, even if it’s only for a minute or two.
