My Dear Friend & POTUS, JRB,

            Sorry to miss our letter yesterday. I had to get my teeth cleaned. You’ll be happy to know that my gums are the healthiest they’ve ever been. I am now eschewing sugar & carbs so I have less inflammation in my system which is a good thing – Yeah!!!

            Every little good thing nowadays is cause for celebration so I am going to also applaud your appointment of Nurse Susan Orsega as your interim Surgeon General. I think nurses are the most important people in our health care system, because they attend to the patient rather than the problem. That’s why they are so frustrated by CV. It’s hard for them to relate to their patients on a personal level when wearing their PPE.

Speaking of which, I hope that your effort to use the Defense Production Act will help companies make PPEs in the USA. This morning NPR had a story about Prestige, an American N95 mask producer, which tried to alert DJT’s people about the need to ramp up mask production before CV even started but to no avail. I hope you will develop a PPE Warp speed type of thing so we can ensure that we can locally produce all of the supplies we need. Right now exam gloves are in short supply so please incentivize some companies to make them in the USA.

I am celebrating little good things so I am don’t worry about CV mutations & the problems with getting vaccines out to the people. I want to see friends & family this summer & I got alarmed when I saw that people in Phase 1B might have to wait until June for their vaccines. Please do what you can to expedite this so CV doesn’t have to time to mutate into something worse than we are dealing with now.

We are in for some exciting weather in the next couple of days. I’ll do my best to stay dry.
